On June 20, the 2024 American Youth Cultural and Tourism Exchanges was launched at the Garden Expo Park in Dongying City, east China’s Shandong Province. Sixteen Chinese-American students from Midland, Texas will start a 10-day visit in Dongying, so as to gain an in-depth understanding of the ecological and cultural beauty of the Yellow River Delta.
At the opening ceremony, students from both China and the US performed Chinese folk art together, winning rounds of applause from the audience.
Chinese American Youth Association (CAYA) and Xunli International Travel Agency (Dongying) signed a long-term cooperation agreement. Additionally, Ms. Cai Xueling, the president of CAYA and the organizer of this event, was conferred the title of “Dongying City Cultural Tourism Recommended Ambassador”.
Dongying Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau planned a series of exchange activities in advance, including study tours, cultural experiences, outdoor development, and learning exchanges, so that students will have a perfect travel and study trip in Dongying.
In addition, the two sides will also sign a number of cooperation agreements to promote exchanges and cooperation in more areas and at a deeper level through inter-school exchanges, short-term visits, summer schools, winter camps and other forms.
"This event provides a platform for young people from China and the United States to enhance understanding and deepen friendship." said Cai Xueling. She hopes that through this event, young Chinese Americans can experience the natural beauty and cultural charm of Dongying, and hopes that the campers will become messengers of Sino-US people-to-people exchanges in the future.
