Huang Xiaogui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Xing’an County, delivered a welcome speech, Ye Wen, Director of the Red Tourism Office, Department of Culture and Tourism of the Autonomous Region, made a speech, and Huang Qin, Magistrate of Xing’an County, presented a flag and announced that the first troop officially started out. Leaders from four groups, Department of Culture and Tourism of the Autonomous Region, Guilin Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, TV, Guilin Cultural Protection and Inheritance Center for Xiangjiang Battle in Red Army’s the Long March, and Xing’an People’s Government attended the activity.

It was reported that this themed activity of “The Most Beautiful Heroes in Harm’s Way Never Fall Short of the New Journey” of Red China: Centurial Long March a.k.a New Long March in the New Era was an important red culture experience activity launched as a gift to the 99th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China and a greeting to 100th Anniversary of the Founding of CPC. Using red culture tourism resources of Guangxi, this activity is expected to hold 100 sectional 100-kilometer hikes from July 1, 2020 to July 1, 2021. Units from all walks of life and industries were invited to take part, to memorialize the revolutionary martyrs, carry forward and inherit the spirit of the Long March.

In Xiangjiang Battle, revolutionary martyrs defined loyalty and faith with their blood and life. The spirit of Xiangjiang Battle, that is, the courage to win, break through and sacrifice, has inspired the Chinese people from generation to generation to forge ahead bravely. On the occasion of the 99th Anniversary of the Founding of CPC, Xing’an initiated the themed activity of “Red China: Centurial Long March a.k.a New Long March in the New Era”, in the hope of making it a research and practice classroom to carry forward the spirit of the Long March and inherit the red gene. According to Huang Qin, no matter how deeply you understood the Long March and how familiar you were with the route of the Long March, your insight would be incomplete if you didn’t take a walk, and feel and experience it by yourself. Xing’an hosted this activity, with a view to make more people experience one five-hundredth of the hardship of the Long March, listen to the touching story about the Red Army’s bloody battle by the Xiangjiang River, recollect red history and inherit the spirit of the Long March in the new era at the juncture of the 100th Anniversary.

The first session of the themed activity of “Red China: Centurial Long March a.k.a New Long March in the New Era” was entitled “The Most Beautiful Heroes in Harm’s Way Never Fall Short of the New Journey”. A team composed of 100 representatives from front-line doctors and nurses fighting against COVID-19, CPC members of Xing’an government departments and CPC members of enterprises and public institutions, started out from the monument park for martyrs sacrificing in Red Army’s breakthrough in the Xiangjiang River in Xing’an County in the Long March, walked through the historical and cultural blocks of Lingqu, Shuijie, Kuixing Tower and Baiyunyi, Shili Xiangli, New Long March Culture Park, Former Site of Guanghuapu Blocking Action, Xianggui Ancient Road (Red Army Road) and Red Army Street, and finally arrived at Red Army Hall, covering a total distance of 25 kilometers.
