Digital Grid Platform Achieves Breakthrough in Online Theoretical Line Loss Calculation Technology
2025-03-13
Recently, the "Digital Grid" Platform, developed by State Grid Information & Communication Industry Group Co., Ltd. (SGICT), achieved China's first online precise calculation of theoretical line losses across full voltage classes through multi-source data fusion at municipal level, marking a new stage in intelligent line loss management for China's power grid.
Computational Model Innovation:
By applying self-adaptive boundary processing and equivalent modeling technology, the platform analyzes complex interactions between the transmission grid (e.g., parallel transmission circuits, series compensation devices) and the distribution grid (e.g., DERs interconnection points), establishing a theoretical line loss calculation model covering all voltage classes.
Algorithm Optimization:
Leveraging AI-driven big data analytics and anomaly correction supported by computational simulation resources, the platform integrates constraints such as generator terminal voltage magnitude and actual measured values. This addresses challenges in traditional algorithms caused by uncertainty of reactive power variations and overload-induced anomalies, significantly improving power flow calculation convergence.
Verification & Application:
Validated with operational data from March 3rd of a municipal power company within State Grid's service area, the platform demonstrated high accuracy and practicality. Moreover, it established an intelligent online calculation framework comprising three core components — data governance, algorithm optimization, and institutional innovation — offering a replicable best-practice solution for nationwide deployment.
